Central and Eastern European Festival of Earth Architecture

The Romanian edition of Regio Earth Summer School coinciding with the city’s year as European Capital of Culture. Hosted in two urban gardens, Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara and Greenfeel, the event focused on natural building techniques and community engagement, co-designed by Atelier Terrapia and Studio Peisaj as platforms for education and experimentation.

Over five days, participants engaged in hands-on workshops improving public installations in the gardens, leaving behind a community earth oven, decorative plaster for the gardeners’ pavilion, and prefabricated wattle-and-daub and rammed earth elements displayed in an open-air exhibition. The program combined practical activities with theoretical sessions, cultural tours, and public events, fostering knowledge exchange on sustainable building practices.
