2024 NOVI SAD, SERBIA
The Serbian edition of REGIO EARTH Summer School was held between Novisad and Mošorin.
Most of the RE activities took place in the yards of the houses, in Almaš quarter, a part of Novi Sad over 300 years old. Although it has lost many earthen houses, this landmark neighborhood has almost entirely retained its former irregular urban matrix, following one of the Danube’s channels. All these activities aimed at raising awareness among the residents of Almaš quarter about the importance of preserving their houses and the significance of preserving this part of the city in general.
Over five days, participants took part in an enriching program that featured:
- ECVET Training M2 (Knowing earth. From raw material to earth mix) Training with the TERRApia (Alina Negru and Alessandro Serra) and Sdružení hliněného stavitelství (Hlina)
- Rammed earth floor with Tommaso Venturini (IT) and Bojan Roganovic (SRB)
- Earthen floor finishes with Stano Prorok (SK) and Vinko Sarkanji (HR)
- Clay plaster with Isabella Breda (IT) and Federico García Martínez (RA)
